The final drawings made by beloved children's illustrator Kate Greenaway, a dozen pencil studies intended to be the basis for her illustrations for an edition of Andersen's "The Snow Queen". The work was incomplete at the time of Greenaway's death in 1901 and the drawings were not published until this book appeared eight decades later. Text by Michael Patrick Hearn discusses the development of the unique collaboration between England's beloved children's book artist (who rarely illustrated anything other than her own books) and the fames Danish writer of fairy tales.
