About This Item
[London:] For Private Circulation Only, [1876?]. 4to, 2 preliminary leaves followed by 32 unnumbered leaves of facsimiles, one of 100 numbered copies signed by Ashbee, some light spotting, orig. blue boards, lacks spine. In 1599 Will Kemp morris-danced from London to Norwich. Kemp was an actor, a jester and a friend of William Shakespeare. It is suggested that he undertook the journey when Shakespeare turned him down for the role of the clown in Hamlet. This is a facsimile reprint of his account of the said journey.
