Green cloth, gilt spine titling in black block, sun dulling to spine, staining along edges, backstrip has 1"" tear at rear joint, illustrated endpapers, INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR (""Best wishes / Thomas D. Clark"") to half-title page, unmarked, binding sound. Clipped DJ heavily chipped, 2"" loss to spine tail, quarter-sized loss to spine crown, closed tears, extremities rubbed & chipped, now in Brodart. Illustrations by John A. Spelman, III.
