(1st) Essay by Bishop on Wolfe, Vivas on Kafka, Auden on Yeats, Chase on Faulkner, Blackmur on Mann, Trilling on Wordsworth, and others. Larger, sturdy book, quality shiny black cloth, a list of contributors at front left in bright gilt lettering, gilt lettering and borders bright on spine, 342 lightly browned pages. DJ heavy paper beneath mylar, light green background to front and back, spine faded to brown, related books advertised on back. DJ has two very tiny nicks at top front edge, spine faded, slight wrinkling at spine top edge, 1/8" wide tear with creases at top back edge next to spine, very tiny but wide tear at bottom back edge. Near Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
