Mottled pink coloured endpages. 1/4 black coloured cloth covered back strip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 dark grape coloured boards. Illustrated dustwrapper with red and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of the author to the rear panel. Set in Edwardian England and early 20th-century United States (Hollywood); the story of Tommy Timpson, born in poverty star of Edwardian theatre, one of the first major stars of the fledgling Hollywood, Darling of his fans – slave to his celebrity. Softening and some fading of the back strip edges with rubbing of the top four corners and lower book edges. Very light age toning of the text book edges.
