Rare yearbook for Kidd-Key College in Sherman, Texas, founded in the late 1860s as Sherman Male and Female High School. In the 1870s, the school became North Texas Female College, with Conservatory of Music added to the title in the 1890s when the school was run by Lucy Ann Kidd-Key. She emphasized a course of study focused on fine arts, especially music. The college became known informally as Kidd-Key College and Conservatory and in 1919 the name was made official, three years after Mrs. Kidd-Key's death. Strict policies regarding student behavior, the opening of SMU, and the Great Depression all combined to reduce enrollment and eventually close the college in 1935. The college was located at 400 N. Elm St. in Sherman, Texas..
