Tours: Maison Alfred Mame et fils, 1921. First edition. A very nice copy of this beautifully illustrated story. Now rebound in three quarter leather (or possibly blue faux leather). marbled boards. Simple gilt title to the spine. Cream end papers. The original illustrated covers of the softback are bound into the book. A little rubbing and evidence of tape to the edge of the front cover (inside). Title page with facsimile autograph and vignette. 95 pages. Preface by Robert de Flers. Beautiful black and white and colour illustrations by Job throughout. A touch of darkening to the page edges, but overall a clean and tidy copy. This is a scarce children's story written by the Queen of Romania, Marie de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha (1875-1938). 340 x 270 mm (13½ by 10¾ inches). . Première édition. Un très bel exemplaire de cette histoire magnifiquement illustrée. Non relié en trois quarts de cuir (ou peut-être en faux cuir bleu), avec des planches marbrées. Titre simple doré au dos. Papiers de garde de couleur crème. Les couvertures originales illustrées du livre souple sont reliées dans le livre. Quelques frottements et traces de ruban adhésif sur le bord de la couverture (à l'intérieur). Page de titre avec autographe et vignette en fac-similé. 95 pages. Préface de Robert de Flers. Magnifiques illustrations en noir et blanc et en couleurs de Job tout au long de l'ouvrage. Un peu de noircissement sur les bords des pages, mais dans l'ensemble un exemplaire propre et bien rangé. Il s'agit d'une rare histoire pour enfants écrite par la reine de Roumanie, Marie de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha (1875-1938). 340 x 270 mm
