London: United Press Photos - Planet News Ltd., 1958. Single Photograph. Fine. 7 x 9 Inches. Original b/w photograph from the United Press, 17th October,1958. Photographer unknown. Added small sheet on the back of the photo captioned: "A King's Diversion. King Hussein of Jordan about to step into the cockpit of a Vampire Aircraft of the Royal Jordanian Air Force at an airfield near Amman recently. The King, who is very keen on flying, often visits one of his Air Force bases just for the thrill of piloting one of the jet fighters." Hussein (1935-1999) was King of Jordan from 1952 till his death in 1999. The Vampire jet fighter is a British made de Havilland.
