Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1957. First trade edition. Inscribed by Tom Lea on the half-title of the first volume; "Inscribed for Kit and Clay Bedford / with warm regard / Tom Lea". Two octavo volumes. Illustrated. Publisher's two-tone cloth with spine lettering in silver and black, floral endpapers, original slipcase with laid-down illustrated title panels. 1958 gift inscription on front pastedowns. Very minor wear to open corners of slipcase. Very clean and attractive.
