Dustjacket in several pieces but assembled in clean Brodart jacket. Large chip missing top LH corner of front cover. Other chips and rubbing both front and back of DJ. Cover has gold Newbery Medal winner seal. price of $2.75 on front flap. Small bookstore sticker half-title page. Copyright page states edition of 1949, has letter C indicating third printing. 172+ pages. Fact/fiction story of the stallion Sham, also known as the legendary Godolphin Arabian. This book, originally pubished in 1948, was awarded the Newbery Medal in 1949. Illus. by Dennis, Wesley. Small 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Tall. Hardcover. Good/Fair.
Synopsis
King of the Wind is a novel by Marguerite Henry that won the Newbery Medal for excellence in American children's literature in 1949. It was made into a 1990 movie.
