Hardcover. 4to. 29cm, 151p., limited edition of 675 copies, this being #298, (for sale in the British Empire), with 10 tipped in colour plates including frontis, titled tissue guards, decorated endpapers, in the original quarter white fine grain linen backed silver decorated paper over boards, gilt spine titles and device on the spine, paper title label on upper cover, t.e.g., expertly rebacked, some slight foxing throughout, some soiling on the spine and upper cover, upper cover slightly faded, a good to very good sound copy (Igc). - A history and study of the pearl first published in 1919 and vividly enhanced by Dulac illustrations in 1920. The ten delightful water colours are in the artist's characteristic decorative Oriental style.
