London: Macmillan and Company Ltd. 1905. First separate UK edition, first printing. First separate UK edition, first printing. Original white cloth with gilt medallion to upper board and titles to the spine, no dustwrapper. Illustrated with 15 full-page colour plates by F. H. Townsend. A very good copy, the binding firm with a slight lean to the spine, some soiling to the cloth, and a small stain to the gilt medallion. The contents, with a neat previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper, foxing to the endpapers and half title, and a little light spotting to the text block top edge, are otherwise clean throughout. The first printing with "Bemrose Dalziel Ltd." imprint on p.80. (Livingston 287.) Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
