Fraser and his wife, inscribed: ''To George and Paddy from John Waller - October 1948.'' Under the presentation inscription the author has written the first four lines of the poem ''Gifts for a Wedding'' which is included here. The poet G.S. Fraser was the author's superior at the Ministry of Information in Cairo during the Second World War. He is mentioned in the poem ''Salamander'' and is quoted at the head of the title poem.Endpapers spotted. Very good in good, rubbed and spotted dustwrapper darkened at the spine and edges.
