Original full leather binding over wooden boards, with braided bands, without clasps. **Early autograph ownerships of: Valentine Pressel (1739-1807) York County, PA / and John Priess. 'The larger Psalterspiel, of which the second edition appeared 1729 in Schaffhausen, contained 1047 hymns on 849 pages. Of these a selection was published as the small Psalterspiel, mainly for the use of the 'Inspired'. The American reprint became quite popular with some sects, Dunkers, Mennonites, etc., as is evidenced by the numerous editions of the book (1744, 1760, 1764, 1777, 1781, 1795, 1797, 1813, 1829)' -Seidensticker.
