Interior is near fine but for slight browning at the edges. Slim folio, pictorial black cloth with a yellow soldier holding a sword, on a leaping horse, and a snarling red bull dog, silver lettering, some spines repaired. 19. Jahrgang Nr. 27 - 23. Jahrgang Nr. 26 August 1914-September 1918. Munich: Simplicissimus, 1914 - 1918.<br/><br/> Germany's most influential satire magazine. A graphic periodical of caricature mocking German political life and society from the beginning of the 20th century to the World War. The magazine was anti military, anti church and anti middle class. Artists include Thomas Heine, Olaf Gulbransson, Heinrich Kley, Rudolf WIlke and Karl Arnold.<br/><br/>
