About This Item

Seattle: Students of Queen Anne High School, 1922. First Edition. Printed Wrappers. Very Good-. [Helmi Juvonen]. 8vo. Pp. 166, [2]. Frontis. illustration tipped in ("Looking Up Dosewallups" by J. A. McCormick). Laden with photos of students, faculty and activities. With signatures and inscriptions from many students, as usual. Bound in textured wraps with yapped edges, "KUAY" (pronounce Q-A, for "Queen Anne") embossed on front cover. Light edge-wear; scuff inside front cover where a decal was removed. Contains an entry for graduating senior Helmi Juvonen, listed as "entered from Butte High School, 1918" and a member of the Honor Society. As usual with yearbooks of the era, each senior is allowed a descriptive quote. Juvonen's: "She'll be famous for her art." An early print appearance of the talented painter whose troubled psychiatric history is well documented.
