Very good, light wear at edges. 65 pages, squarish small octavo. No former owner marks. Jean Paulhan (1884 â 1968) was one of the most influential figures in French literature in the twentieth century. He served as an editor of La Nouvelle Revue française, Franceâs premier literary journal, and led its revival after World War II as La Nouvelle Nouvelle Revue française. Author Anne Desclos revealed that she had written the novel Story of O as a series of love letters to her lover Paulhan, who had admired the work of the Marquis de Sade.
