About This Item
New York: E.P. Dutton, 1944. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/very good. 394 pp, indexed. Slight soiling to top edge of text block, else a fine copy, in a very good dust jacket with light wear to the top edge. Louis Waldman (1892-1982) was "a leading figure in the Socialist Party of America from the late 1910s and through the middle 1930s, a founding member of the Social Democratic Federation, and a prominent New York labor lawyer" (wiki). This autobiography offers, according to the dust jacket, "an insider's view of labor and socialist affairs by one who played a leading role in their making," with Waldman's life mirroring "the growth, development, and ideological conflicts of American Labor and third-party political life.
