Octavo, x, 230, [2] (blank), 12 (publisher's advertisements) pages with numerous tables. Gilt- and black-decorated cloth; edges uncut; covers slightly flecked, bumped and rubbed; spine a little darkened; initial leaves slightly foxed; a very good copy. With the pictorial bookplate ['Gang forward'] of Edward Charles Stirling on the front pastedown, his pencilled ownership signature on the half-title (inscribed 'S.S. Pekin, 1885'), and his pencilled notes on two pages at the rear, and with his occasional pencilled emphases.
