Edited with Introduction and Notes by Dorothy Blakey Smith. xxviii, 157pp. Eight photographs, index. Gilt-lettered light brown cloth. A very fine copy. Letters and journal kept by Sophia Cracroft, Lady Jane Franklin's niece by marriage, which narrates their visit to Sitka February to April, 1861 and April to July, 1870. Sophia and Lady Franklin apparently made the journey in hopes of discovering any of Sir John Franklin's diaries, journals or other personal papers..

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
