Description:
New York: Fredrick A. Stokes Company. Very Fine in Good jacket Scott's "Lady" has appeared in dozens of editions over the past two centuries. This Vignette edition from Frederick Stokes in 1892 is very special because of Joseph Gleeson's one hundred illustration. But this copy may be unique in that a glance at its listings on the internet shows that it was thougth to have been issued without a dust jacket. That's not surprising since they were rare or nearly non-existent that early. This copy has a dust jacket. It is in fairly good condition for its age. It shows how early it is by the fact that there is no printing on the front or back or on the flaps. But the spine has a n elaborate floral design with "Lady of the Lake" at the top, "Scott" in the center, and a Frederick Stokes logo at the bottom. DJ is missing a word "The" at the top. Cloth . Cloth. 1892.
