Philadelphia, PA: Deacon and Peterson, 1869. Leather_bound. GOOD. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Moderately scuffed and worn. Edges and corners worn and frayed. Pages faintly age-tanned. Foxing to endpapers and a bit throughout text. Occasional page with smallish edge tears. Page 717 detached, but present. Two color plates missing. Numerous black and white illustrations, some with tissue guard. Bound in 3/4 leather with rust, green and black marbeling. Red and black title labels on worn leather spine with gilt lettering and gilt rules. Gilt rules near head and foot of spine. 864 pp. The complete year of The Lady's Friend Magazine. Includes patterns, fashion-plates, music, "receipts", short stories, poetry and much more. Engravings by Illman Brothers.
