London: The Field " Office, 1874. 1st Edition. Original Cloth. Fair/N/a. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. No Illustrations. 412pp. A first edition copy bound in original green cloth binding with gilt embossed lettering to the front board and spine. The textblock is clean and tight, being in good condiiton with the bindning only being fair. Damp staining to the boad and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine with some splitting and loss of the cloth. There is some splitting to the front and rear inner hinges revealing the webbing - leaving the boards a little shaken. Some light staining to the extreme tail of the end papers and advertisement pages at the rear of the book and a little soiling to the fore edges - though not affecting the page margins. The textblock as mentioned is clean, tight and compelte. A fair /good copy.
