"Lalla Rookh/ Is a naughty book/By Tommy Moore/Who has written four/Each one warmer/Than the former/So the mos recent/Is the least decent" (Sneyd). This is a beautifully produced small edition of the 1817 novel in verse. Also included are the author's preface to the 20th edition and "The Veiled Prophet of Khorassah," Paradise and the Peri,", "The Fire-Worshippers," and "The Light of the Haram."
The gilt has faded from the heavily decorated cover, which also features flower panels. There is a frontispiece of Lalla Rookh and a red and green title page.
