The cloth on board binding is wonderful: the zig zag pattern which appears on the front cover, is in bold colours: black, white, blue, turkey red. Spine is beige with red lettering. Bottom and top of spine are worn, bumps to corners. Tear 1 1/2" long on edge of spine. Scuffing to back cover. Front cover in good cond. Front free endpaper missing. Evidence of hinging, mended with invisible tape. The text and illust. are in excellent cond. Full page illus. - some in colour, other b/w. Content chapters include: The Hopi Indian Family, The Rabbit Hunt, Building the House, Making Piki, The Katchina Dance, Yucca Plants, The Snake Dance, THe Rain Dance, etc. Foreward is by Frank G. Speck, Head of Dept. of Anthropology, Univ. of Pennsylvania. Heavy quality stock paper. Overall co nd. binding- fair. Endpapers poor. Text v. good.. F.
