London: Calder and Boyers, 1966. A true first edition, first printing (first impression) with no reprint statement on the copyright page which indicates a true first print. VG. Slight bumping to top of spine. No DW as such, but what appears to be that part of the DW which gives full-page details of the author and the nature of this influential novel is included as an insert. . Size: 8vo 271 pages. Previous owner's name neatly inscribed on the front end page. No other inscriptions or annotations. This is Irish writer Aidan Higgins' first novel, the experimental Langrishe, Go Down. which was highly praised. on its publication. Aidan Higgins was born in County Kildare in 1927. The book was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction and the Irish Academy of Letters Award and it was also a runner up for the Booker Prize. It was later adapted as a BBC television film by British playwright Harold Pinter, in association with RTÉ. Green cloth. Rare and collectible.; .
