Paris: Societe Francaise D'Edition Art, 1900. Reprint. . Hardback (rebound). Good. Reprint. Hardback, rebound in plain blue binder's buckram with title label to spine. 21 × 13.5cm, 317pp. French text. This copy belonged to Adrian Fortescue who has signed his name in Gallicized form (Adrien de Fortescu) to the ffep, and dated it Novembre 1904 from Maldon in Essex where he was the parish Priest. Adrian Fortescue (1874-1923) was an English Roman Catholic priest, liturgist, author, artist, calligrapher, composer, scholar, adventurer and photographer. French architect Edouard Corroyer's illustrated study of Romanesque architecture, examining its original and characteristics. The book is illustrated with architectural plans and sketches. Condition: Good condition. The pages are tanned and there is a little stress to the inner binding at the hinges but otherwise a good copy, and with a nice provenance. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown.
