A day-to-day history of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, when it has been assumed that Americans were caught completely unaware of the last great German offensive-the drive into the Ardennes in December,1944, known as the Battle of the Bulge. The question explored here is whether or not it is really true that Americans were caught unaware and why they didn't reinforce the troops on the weekly held Ardennes sector of the front line. Thousands of young American soldiers lost their lives at a time when many regarded the war as virtually won. 238 pages including bibliography and index. 9.5 x 6.5 inches. 1994, Sarpedon Publishing, New York, New York, USA
