First Canadian printing of Findley's debut novel tells the story of Hooker Winslow and his eleventh summer when his family seems to be coming apart at the seams and reality is in short supply. 282 pp. Cream cloth covered boards have red gilt text on spine only. Book is very slightly cocked, top edge dust soiled, tail of spine slightly rubbed. Price clipped DJ is edge worn with 1/2" closed tear top front edge, lightly soiled rear panel. Book is signed by Findley under his name on the title page and dedication, " For Greg from Tiff, July, 25, 70." ffep. Book is from the collection of the Toronto author/poet and Harbourfront literary event host, Greg Gatenby, as witnessed by his signature and the year of this book's acquisition ffep. Signed 2 X! Very collectible, first novel. Bookseller's Inventory # 133058.
