Straight, tight and clean with no markings, slight spine-end and corner wear. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, slight edge nicks, in protective sleeve. An early novel of familial drama from the French writer, journalist, biographer, French Resistance fighter, Officer of Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and Officer of the Legion of Honour. This novel won the Prix Renaudot when it was first published in France in 1953.
