Fine/good +. 12mo, 78pp. A fine copy, crisp and bright, in a good or slightly better dust jacket, with some minor but notable edge chips/tears and some tape chost near the crown. First state, with no punctuation to the first two lines of the poem on p. 52. Attractive bookseller ticket on the front free endpaper.
Synopsis
Housman's second and final publication, in which he continues his fatalistic theme begun in Shropshire Lad. Man's only response to such a cruel and dismal life is to bravely face it until death's release. While not as widely known and acclaimed as Shropshire Lad, Housman's command of the craft remains undeniable.
