There are a few pages with some margin marks and a few pages with light soil spots. There is a name printed on the front end paper, a gift inscription (dated 1926) printed on the half title page and the back end papers have some notes. The binding is cracked at the front hinge and a few other places in the book, however there are no loose or missing pages. The cover has corner wear and some light cloth bleach spots. The spine is faded and has end wear..

Moderate cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. Moderate tanning to free endpapers due to dust jacket flaps. Bookseller sticker stuck to back pastedown. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket. Dust jacket has heavy edgewear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing. Heavy tape repairs to jacket. Moderate tanning and wear marks to flaps, panels and spine.
