London: [Morland Press], 1923. Very Good. Tall Octavo. SIGNED BY JOSEPH CONRAD ON COLOPHON PAGE without personalization. A very good limited edition of 200 signed copies. This is no. 197. Bound in original full limp vellum with gilt lettering spine. Vellum slightly warped with light red dampstain along fore-edge (visible on the vellum and on the endpapers, but not on the leaves except their very edge). This was Conrad's dramatization of his tale "Because of the Dollars," which had been published in "Within the Tides" (1915). The play was never produced on the stage; his other plays, "The Secret Agent" and "One Day More," were also unsuccessful. 66 pp.
