About This Item
Edinburgh: Edinburgh Bible Society, 1854 Although described as poor, the sewn binding is solid and the boards are still attached although the back board is only attached at the top . The boards and edges are rubbed and the spine ends chipped. At some time the bible has become wet and the page edges are stained though the writing is still legible. A few pages have become loose but are present. The interesting thing about this bible is a family chronology of the Harper Family, William Harper having married Catherine McMillan in 1850 followed by the dates of birth of all their children. All this is notated on the ffep and could be of assistance to the Harper family genealogy. Written in Gaelic. This bible needs some tender love and care and would be worthy of some repair. It is as rare and hard to find edition.
