Credited with creating the first credible African-American private detective, the Edgar Award-winning Lacy's third book features young New York City Police detective Dave Wintino investigating the death of an ex-cop shot down in an alley; previous owner's signature in ink on fep, boards show wear on edges, corners, top and bottom of spine; dustjacket is basically whole but back panel is wrinkled, top and bottom of spine chipped, edges worn. Makes a reasonable reading copy.
