First Edition; Cr. 8vo; pp. iv, 329, (2);,index, marbled endpapers, bound in modern full maroon morocco, raised bands, title lettered in gilt on spine, fine copy. From 1837 to 1842 Merivale was professor of political economy at Oxford, and in this capacity he delivered this course of lectures, dealing with the questions of emigration, employment of labour, protection of native indigenous people, and the allotment of land.
