L, & 280 pp. Pages; Publisher's blue-green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, front cover and spine with elaborate decorative stamping in black. Dark grey coated endpapers. Very light rubbing to the spine ends and tips of the corners, but the binding is clean and fresh. A lovely example of this 19th century work. Original owner's signature in ink on the front blank, date 1887. No other marks. The author's local connections can be inferred from his printed dedication on the leaf following the title page: "I dedicate this volume to my brethren of the Bucks County Bar, with whom I have had pleasant professional and social intercourse for the half part of a century. " C. E. W. / Doylestown, Pa. April, 1887." It is interesting to note that "Howard W. Morris" wrote his name in this copy with the date "May 23, 1887." An early owner, indeed. OCLC Number 6616263. Wright III, 6120. .; Americana and American History, Literature, Most Recent Listing .
