These 58 stories set against the background of the Garden of the Gulf before the turn of the century depict Islanders and their mode of life before modern transportation linked the Island Province with the mainland. Some are in Island dialect with some people and places mentioned by name. Some tanning to cover edges with one spot on fore-edge. .
