London: Richard Edward King, 1834. Later Printing. Hardcover. Good. First published in 1834. Hinges reglued, tight; 1.5 in. of insect nibbling. A collection of Irish stories by the Anglo-Irish novelist, song-writer and painter, the author of Rory O'More and Handy Andy, first published in 1832. Lover is remembered for having done "much to change the popular conception of the Irish peasant from apelike buffoon to a genuine human being." He was the grandfather of the composer Victor Herbert. A late 19th century printing. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Hard Cover. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable.
