[LEONIE ADAMS LETTER AND BOOK INSCRIBED TO SIGRID DE LIMA; WOMEN'S INTEREST] LEONIE ADAMS, HANDWRITTEN LETTER/ALS, 5" x 6-1/2", 2 pages on right hand pages of folded sheet for 4 pages/about 150 words, dated September 10, 1961, to "Dear Sigrid" in Valley Cottage, New York, replying to letter from Sigrid presumably in sympathy upon death of Leonie's husband, reading in part, "Many though late, thanks for you lovely letter…I trust that you and Stephen [de Lima's husband Stephan Greene] and the daughter, I shall met again…Bill [husband William Troy, d. May 26, 1961] died peacefully, even though after great suffering…", with envelope addressed by hand with New Milford, Connecticut, return address, Leonie Adams signature in return address with first couple of letters in her first name separated from the way the letter was opened at this corner, letter laid in in copy of Poems – A Selection by Leonie Adams, inscribed, "For Sigrid de Lima, with confidence in her books to come and esteem for those written / Leonie Adams", published by Funk and Wagnalls, 1954, first edition with same date on title page and copyright, with dust jacket with $3.00 price at top of front flap,; signature authenticated by seller with lifetime guarantee; NOTES: LEONIE ADAMS: 1899-1988, was an American poet…appointed the seventh Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1948…Adams' Poems: A Selection won the 1954 Bollingen Prize.
