To H.R.H. Prince Leopold K.G. D.C.L this edition of Shakespeare's works is by His Royal Highness's kind permission. Respectfully dedicated. Half leather blue binding. Corners bumped and rubbed. Gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Spine scuffed to top and bottom, scuffed at outer hinges and marks to centre. Boards marked. Marbled end papers cracked at hinges. Marbled page edges. Royal Naval War Libraries stamp to rear of FFEP. Previous owners signature. Black and white frontispiece depicting William Shakespeare. Black and white illustrations. 1056 pp. Some minor age spotting.

With a frontispiece etching of the Bard, and frequent in-text wood engravings. Contemporary tan full calf, with raised bands, gilt titles to burgundy label, and further gilt decoration to spine. Gilt tooling also to boards. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers, and gilt dentelle to turn-ins. Black ink ownership of C. Barham, December 1920, to first blank. Some spotting to endpapers and preliminaries. Spine toned and lightly rubbed, with light general wear and a few minor scratches to boards. Very good.
