1937 Harper and Brothers, first state of the first edition.
Per "James Thurber: A bibliography" by Edwin Bowden, there are two states to the Thurber cartoon that is imprinted on the front board panel. Bowden states that the cartoon showing a line around the man's facial stubble, and an extra strand of hair on the top of his head, is the earlier state.
Condition of the book is Very Good. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked. Pages are lightly age toned.
Condition of the Dust Jacket is Very Good minus. The DJ has been price clipped. The DJ has some chipping and a closed tear. It is protected in a new mylar cover.
