About This Item
1836. Extracted from Archaeologia Vol. XXVI.. 1836 4to. Pp. 47 - 200. 21 plates, many folding. Modern cloth binding with a leather label. A very good copy. Ottley tried unsuccessfully to prove that BM Ms. Harl. 647 was of 2nd or 3rd century date rather than 9th century. His critique gives a good example of the state of palaeographical research at that time and also offers a useful text of Aratus' Phaenomena with engraved reproductions of the original illustrations.
