About This Item

New York: Dutton. Very Good+ in Near Fine dust jacket. 1995. First Edition. Hardcover. 0525939466 . Stated first printing, June 1995. A selection of Ayn Rand's letters, beginning with a letter written shortly after she emigrated from Soviet Russia to the US, and throughout her life as an author, screenwriter, philosopher and founder of the Objectivist movement. Many of the letters include a response from the recipient, or explanatory notes about the correspondence. Edited by Michael S. Berliner, and with an introduction by Leonard Peikoff. Indexed. --- In tan paper-covered boards backed in black cloth, with titling in silver to spine. Dust jacket with a color photographic portrait of Rand taken by Phyllis Cerf, apparently at the Random House offices in New York. --- An excellent copy: unmarked, bright and tightly-bound but with corners of several leaves creased to mark places in the book. Unclipped dust jacket with mild rubbing to back panel, otherwise bright and undamaged; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector. (NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested for any shipment other than by USPS Media Mail in the US.); Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xxi, 681 pages .
