About This Item

Remarkable survivors: these two volumes in about AS NEW CONDITION. They are in this exceptional state because they were rebound by a library in hard red library binding with brilliant white titling etc on spine. The binding has inluded brilliant white end pages plus the pasted in "lending record' which shows the books were never borrowd, then the title page with small library stamp and manuscript call number and the same repeated on the dedication page. Book one has a fold out map of the western front that is in perfect mint condition and page after page of the unit badges of British units in which staff served,, Canadian Corps badges and even badges of US units in which staff served. And many other illustrations. Lt de Wind V.C., for example. Vol II has a frontispiece protected by a tissue in perfect condition. The books look and feel new and never opened, never read but because of the provenance, I cannot list as new or as new. Tables of who served in what units, tables of decorations. And a full swathe of photographs of staff who enlisted. These books are an absolute treasure. Slight stickiness where labels were probably removed-and I assume that stickiness will lift off. Wonderful gift. 344 + 497 pages ISA/Canada. Can collect in Victoria B.C. Not easy to hold these two books level on the scanner
