Description:
John Murray. London 1857 (probable Second edition ). 8vo 409pp. Hardcover with half leather marble boards in only fair condition with a leather covering and worn gilt title on a surprisingly firm spine and no d/w as issued of course with heavily worn corners, edges and all surfaces that really need sensitive rebinding, text in fair condition at best with some pages heavily repaired and annotated. Looks like a seriously old and well loved book. Probably the proof for the second edition with hand- annotated corrections throughout and an overall repair is an ideal task for a bookbinding student.
