Three letters dated January and February 1846 concerning the development of Virginia's natural resources, a protective tariff proposed by the President, and the cotton industry in Massachusetts and elsewhere. Covers show moderate soil, dime-size dark soil spot at corner of rear cover. Spine has minor paper loss. Clean interior, good binding.
