New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1901. First Edition . Hard Back. Good/No Dust Jacket. 5 3/4" x 8 1/2. 465 Pages Indexed. Volume 2 ONLY. Copyright 1899 with Publication date 1901. Red boards with gold spine lettering and RSS gold decoration on front. Owner's last name inked on front endpaper. Front hinge top 1 ½ inches is beginning to loosen. Back endpapers have separated and mesh is holding. Interior text pages are tight and white with a light stain on the bottom corner of some pages. Frontispiece is portrait of Stevenson covered with onion skin paper. Volume II begins with Chapter VIII continued with Life At Bournemouth. Remaining Chapters titled The United States Again, Pacific Voyages, and Life In Samoa. There are 222 letters in Volume II. Henry James, W. B. Yeats, Sidney Colvin, Rudyard Kipling, Charles Scribner, and A. Conan Doyle are some of the recipients. Stevenson was born 13 November 1850 and died 3 December 1894. He was a British novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. His most famous works are Treasure Island, Kidnapped, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and A Child's Garden of Verses.
