Honolulu: Island Heritage Limited, 1975. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Oblong 8vo. Pp. [vi,] 234. Frontis. sunset scene black & white photo. Illustrated with black & white gravure photo reproductions. Cream colored leather-texture cloth, titles and decorations stamped in gilt on the spine, decorative border and author signature facsimile stamped in gilt on the cover, decorated endpapers, edges gilt, yellow bookmark ribbon bound in. Preliminary parchment leaf hand numbered 1829 of an edition limited to five thousand copies and signed by the editor, with Hawaiian royal blind stamp. Leaves crisp and bright, covers lightly scuffed and marked. Twenty-five letters from Twain published in the Sacramento Union in 1866, with excerpts serving as captions for historic photographs.
