The best binding is the red, faux quarter morocco, faux gilded top page, nice ribbon, in the box. The other kind is the blue academic binding--not as nice. I mean nobody is kidding anybody---these are facsimile copies, but the red is nicer. Also the 1968 is thicker and nicer than the newer 1996.The 1996 retails at the Folger Library for $200, so if you get a 1968 in good shape for less than $100, go for it.This is an excellent way to read Shakespeare in the original text if you don't have the 2-6 million for a real 1623 first folio.Of course, if you can use the real deal in a library etc, highly recommended. That way with little suspension of disbelief and the Norton---well, it's a really good time in a a Shakespeare kind of way. You will also need an annotated edition to read along. I got a nice used Bevington for $10 delivered.
